I was arrested 8 years ago for possession of stolen property and went through the alternative measure program. The charge was then withdrawn. I was fingerprinted and photographed as part of the process before completing the program.

Will this show up if I try and cross the US border? Will it impact my ability to cross? If yes, what can I do to help my cause?

I consulted a local criminal lawyer and was told there should be nothing on the file for US Customs to see related to this charge. He also advised me to write the police department and request confirmation that they destroyed my fingerprints and photos.

As a safety measure I will travel with a copy of the court file showing the charges were withdrawn at the request of the prosecutor. I'll let you know if I run into any problems. Here's hoping.
