Hi there,
I have a Noritake marked item and haven't a clue what its use would be.
It's white, round , stands approx 5cm high
13cm base rim that then flares out at approx 30 degree angle to a diameter of approx 19.5cm. It then angles up & back toward the middle (top) & that has a diam of 17cm
There is a 9cm diameter opening in the centre
Around the top rim are raised ball shapes like a hobnail pattern with indented lines running from rim to edge of centre opening there is a thin gold band running around just inside the 'hobnails' and a thick gold band running around the inside of the opening.
Picture this - 19.5cm diam straight sided cereal bowl, now wrap your hands round the rim and squeeze until the diameter at the rim is 17cm. Now get a 17cm diam saucer and cut a 9cm diam plug from the centre, now cut 24 green peas ( only they're white ) in half and stick these around the rim. Now draw a gold ring ( approx 1mm wide) approx 2mm from the peas. Then paint the inside wall of where you removed the centre plug gold like the ring. Now plonk this saucer on top of the squished in cereal bowl and glue in place.
To finish off - get a sharp nail and scratch nice thin evenly spaced lines from the centre opening out to the rim over the edge and down the sides.
Sorry I'm unsure of how to upload an image.
Hope you can give me an idea of what it is as I can't even find a similar pattern.
Cheers
Oh my goodness - that description will be 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back so I really hope there's someone with the same brain pattern.lol
