My friend will be 84 years of age in a few days. He is in a nursing home, bed-ridden due to major strokes, unable to eat or speak, and tube fed. Communication is by an alphabetical chart. He still expresses humor in our communications. I would like some suggestions regarding possible gifts in recognition of his upcoming birthday.

A box set of cd's by his favourite artist or band, with head phones!
Again,a box set of stories that he could listen too from his favourite era.
A dvd of family and friends wishing him a happy birthday.

Here's a couple of ideas:
Amazon.com: The Best of The Tonight Show - King of Late Night (2 Discs): Johnny Carson: Movies & TV (http://www.amazon.com/Best-Tonight-Show-Night-Discs/dp/B000NJL4SK)
Dean Martin Classic Celebrity Roasts DVD Collector Video Library (http://www.deanmartinvideo.com/)
I don't know how much you want to spend on your friend, but these are acknowledged classics of comedy from his prime years.

Thanks a million Nurse. I'm going to purchase a CD player with his favorites, "The Four Freshman" with recordings from the 50's and 60's. I would have never thought of that without your comments. God Bless and join me on Facebook as a friend. Denny Fox (Georgia)
