I was wondering how to "overfill" my Whirlpool LXR7244PQ0 top loading washer. I had a Kenmore I could do this by holding the water level knob all the way to the right past the highest water level setting but this does not work with this washer. Is there an equivalent method to manually fill on this machine?

Short of using a bucket or hose you can get this washer to "overfill". Why would you want to? A longer cycle or more rinses should be more efficient.

This washer came with our townhouse and is only medium capacity. On top of that seems to only fill 2/3 of the way on the highest water level setting. My old Kenmore stopped filling all the way and twice I replaced the part that regulates water level to no avail so the tech showed me how to manually finish filling the tub. This WP model is very basic and does not offer "longer cycles" or extra rinses. With a family of 5, by adding 2 more gallons of water per cycle I use the full capacity of the tub therefore do less loads. I am filling with a gallon pitcher from the utility tub in the laundry room right now. Just wondered if there was a "back door" trick or knob that would allow me to manually fill from the machine. Thank you!

Sorry, wish there was a back door but with basic models you are lucky to have a front dor.LOL
