(I apologies if I give any information that is not needed, or seemingly random, just trying to be very thorough)

so I have low blood pressure. Always have. Not hypotension though. Just a good low pressure usually around 100/70.

but today after getting home from class, it was very hot today, 106, and I have no AC in my car, and then I didn't change out of my scrubs right away(dark blue thick material so I was HOT) well I was sitting wittoh my duaghter counting her money with her, for about 10 minutes. Then I stood up, and my head was SWIMMING! I saw spots, felt like I was going to fall, I was shaking, and my ears were ringing up a storm (I have meneres disease which causes tinitius already, but this was a million times worse than ever before)

so my friend took my BP (she is also a phlebotomist in school with me, and we can take BP manually, we just have no idea what the numbers mean once we have the stats lol) and it was 120 over 110!! My diastolic has NEVER EVER even gone over 80!

also some more info, just last week (saterday) I started taking (with my docs permission) an over the counter med called Bayer AM. Its 1000 MGs asprin for morning aches and pains and soreness, and 130 mgs of caffine, to help wake up and get rid of the fatigue. Because I was having serious problems in these areas.

Alos to let you know, I am better now. I changed into some shorts, got some ice water, and sat down for a little while and I feel much better

so my question is, was it the asprin? And should I start taking half the does instead and/or talk to my doc about it?
or was it the heat?
or a combination of both?

thanks everyone.

Probably the caffeine + the high temps. That's a big jolt of caffeine.

Benicar (A blood pressure med) has been shown to help people with CFS (Chronic Fatique Syndrome).

Thanks kiss, ill ask my doc about benicar. My only concern would be if I already have normally lower BP would it lower my Bp even more?

The caffine is about 2 cups of coffee which is what I always used to drink anyway. I just can't anymore cause when I got my gall bladder removed, anytime I had coffee, well... ahem... my bowels did NOT like it at all... LOL.

Hey kiss, I just looked benicar up, but fatiue and sore joints and muscles (whch is exactly what my problem is lol) is one of the side effects of benicar. Did you say the wrong medication maybe

No. Some migraine meds say the side effect is migraines. Go figure.

Anyway, Benicar is very expensive (like $755 for #270 20 mg tabs) and insurance coverage is difficult. I believe it's use for CFS is off-label, but they are working on approval.

It's a direct angiotestinII recepter blocker and that regulates vasoconstriction. Lisinopril is an indirect angeotestinII receptor blocker. I believe that will be less of an impact with Benicar than with Lisinpril. Inderal, for instance, would cause an overall drop in blood pressure.

The mechanism of action of Benicar is way different than some of the other BP lowering meds. I've been on all of the above. Currently on Benicar. My suggestion and it's working better for migraine prevention. I have to "save up" doses for when there will be an expected migraine trigger (rain) which is OK with doc.

If you do a search of Benicar and CFS you'll find that they will be using a lot more than the recommended 80 mg/day.
