Difference between safety belt and Safety Harness belt?

A safety belt is usually a single shoulder strap with a lap strap. A harness is usually two shoulder straps that cross in the front with a lap strap. There are different types of harnesses for different purposes that are more/less secure. They are usually better than your standard shoulder straps.
