My husband is finally facing issues that he's never dealt with from an early age. We have booked to see a counsellor but the next available appointment is too long away in order for us to move forward. There have been trust issues between us for the last year and now things have gotten out of control. I want to help him get through these issues but I don't know how. He feels guilty that I put in so much effort and he doesn't but he feels his life is a failure and his business isn't where it should be and wanders why he's never completed things in life. I just need some assistance for now. How does he move forward and how can I support him?

Talk, and keep talking.

Having open and honest communication.

Letting him know he is not alone going through this, that you are his team mate and your together.

Make a pack not to shut each other out,and have a plan for when you argue.

Do things together to forge a sense of team work, its also important to find a balance and let him and you have your own space to think about how things are developing and not to feel pressured.

As I said, keep talking, maybe address issues in your own relationship that have been around for a while,it will help you both have a sense of achievement and give you both confidence that you can get through this together as a team.

Maybe a doctor is what you need for now. Until a counselor is available. Short term he may need something that you can't give.
