My left ring finger is swollen and purple.. it throbs when I put it down by my side.. it hurts when I touch the swollen side.I put ice on it but it didn't do anything.on the left side its all white along the fingernail.. it really hurts.what do I do?

Go to a doctor. It is probably a fungus and if left untreated it could spread.

See a doc before you loose a nail. The faster you see a doc the less chances of losing a nail.

Most likely the doc will puncture the nail to relieve the pressure and treat appropriately.

If you had said you hit it with a hammer, I'd tell you how to relieve the pressure.
