View Full Version : How do I know I am receiving my correct pay if my stub does not reflect my rate or ho

I just got my first paycheck from a new career. The hours and payrate are not reflected on the pay stub. I am confused on how to figure out if I was paid correctly using the total hours I have tracked and the rate of pay I was told? I already see that the small company has quite a few issues and I am afraid to ask.

Does your gross pay not match the math?

Rate of pay you were hired at, times hours work equals gross pay. Withholdings should be by chart.

If your rate of pay and hours are not on your check stub than I would guess that you are being paid as salaried exempt. This means you are paid a specific salary to do a job and are not being paid hourly.

If this is not true and you are paid hourly there are some states which do not require this to be on the check stub and some states do not even require check stubs.

I would ask payroll. The payroll person is an employee just like you and would be able to answer your questions. If not than ask your supervisor because your supervisor has to okay your hours to be paid if you are hourly.
