We are on a septic tank with a 20-year old drain field. We repeatedly have problems and have had the septic tank pumped three times over the last few years. We've been told - by the septic tank guy - that the drain field is clogged up and needs to be replaced. We use as little water as possible, even piping the washing machine drain to the field beside the house. Currently, my toilet won't hold water. And when the toilet at the other end of the house flushes there is gurgling in one of my bathroom sinks and/or my tub. I think this latest started when my husband replaced the seal between the tank and the bowl on my toilet because it was leaking. (It still leaks.) Nothing drains well. Sometimes my bathroom smells like a sewer. Also, we are on a well and mineral deposits may be an issue. This looks like a great site and I could sure use the help as my husband is disabled and no longer helps with anything.
