I would like to sue my partner for not abiding by a contract agreement-Domestic Partnership(they eneded the relationship- they wanted to date another person)i suffered domestic violence-emotional, anguish, pain & suffering-:also for abandosmment-neglagence; also violating my civil & human rights- are they still responsible for 1/2 the rent due for a 1 yr lease signed by both of us if they chose to leave?

You can sue for just about ANYTHING under the sun.

Winning the suit might prove to be difficult.

This is a legal question, not an emotional health question, and I have asked that it be moved.

Yes, you can sue on the basis of the contract. Is it a written contract or oral?

Yes, the other person on the lease (partner or not) is responsible for half of the rent until the end of the lease. That may very well involve you paying the full rent and then suing the partner for his/her share.

These domestic relationship cases are very difficult to win and a lot of Attorneys won't handle them. You will have to find a family law Attorney who will.
