Just had old pipes under the double kitchen sink replaced-there is a now gurgling noise when draining on both sides that was never there before-why?

Does the pipe from the trap go into the wall or the floor?
A gurgle tells you the vent's blocked and your sink's attempting to vent through the trap. Either you gave a blocked vent that needs to be snaked or in changing the pipes the vent somehow got cut out of the system. Go back and check your work

Thanks for getting back to us.. we had a plumber do the work Friday along with a new faucet installed. When the plumber turned the water on my wife questioned the loud gurgling noises now present and the plumber told my wife to "live with it", unless she wants to have him drill a whole straight through our upstairs and out the roof to make it go away". She asked if there wasn't something else he could do to stop it and he said "Nope". End of story. He probably should have told us removing the old pipes and putting in PVC would cause this noise. The pipe goes into the floor I believe. I hope gurgle is the correct word-you can very loudly hear the water draining now. From both sides of the sink. It doesn't matter which side is draining-it happens. This happens no where else in the entire house. Just where the plumber worked Friday.
