I rent an apartment in California. My rent is due on the 1st of each month. I won't have my rent until the 10th this month. I received a 3 day pay or quit yesterday, the 5th which expires on the 8th. Will I still be able to pay my rent after the 3 day notice expires or will I automatically be evicted?

That is up to your landlord and if it goes there to a Judge. But if you have the money then it would be reasonable they would accept it.

The 3 day pay or quit is just the first step in eviction. If you don't pay, the landlord then has to file for an eviction order. Generally you will be given the opportunity to pay up to the hearing. However, if you are frequent late payer, the landlord may be able to refuse payment. Usually not though.
