I own a Kenmore top loading washing machine model number:110.22622100. I just recently replaced the lid switch because it was broken, and it had worked for a couple of loads of laundry. Tonight it decided to not even reach the rinse cycle. There was a loud clicking noise coming from the dial, there was no smoke and no funny smell. It is very finicky and has a mind of its own. It will not drain or even turn on. I have tried turning the dial to different settings, but it either clicks or doesn't respond. Any help would be some help!

Hi, roamingnome!

Okay, it looks like you've got power to the unit. The timer might be defective. That would be one of the most common things to go out on a washing machine to cause the types of problems that you're experiencing.

Do you have the owner's manual for the machine, please?

Thanks!

I do not have the owners manual, it was a used appliance when I bought it. I recently replaced the lid switch though.

Now, instead of starting to spin, the basket will spin an inch and them stop, and I can't move it with my hand.
