I have a 2005 F-250 6.0 diesel. After driving for 40 miles in stop and go traffic, then open freeway for last 20 miles. I shut off my truck 5 minuets later I tried restarting to pullinto the garage and it wouldn't start. Motor was turning over but was sputtering as if not getting fuel, I tried a couple more times and same thing happened. I retried 10-15 minuets later and she started right up. What could be the problem so this doesn't happen again? Thanks, Harry

On diesel engines that will not restart, after they are warmed up, it's often a sign of a tired fuel pump. As they heat soak, inside pump head clearances increase and it will no longer develop sufficient fuel pressure at cranking speed. While it's running, fuel helps cool the pump by carrying the heat away.
