Vacuum cleaner by iRobot and I can't tell you how absolutely fantastic it is. All you do is turn it on and this little thing does your whole room, absolutely until it is clean. I haven't got the patience or the time to spend vacuuming one room the way this little thing did. I originally thought it couldn't have enough storage space for all it picked up, but actually is quite roomy inside. It keeps going over one spot, say l0 square until its clean. When its done it goes to its dock to recharge.
Now how wonderful is that !
Happy tick

Hi, tickle!
Cool! :D A new and very useful thing! :)
Are you saying that it actually goes back to its dock by itself, please?
Thanks!

Yes, it is completely robotic, Clough, amazing ! I can't wait to let it do my whole house tomorrow. When its done it gives a happy sound too ! Mmmm I am into this whole robotic thing now, however dog didn't care for it too much invading under the bed where dog was at the time.
It didn't require a lot of set up either, but one has to be diligent in keeping the dirt receptical clean but if that's all I have to do to keep it happy, I am all for it.

Yeah, I'll bet it doesn't care where much of anything's at except the dirt and its "home"! LOL! :D
What an amazing device! :)
If I had one, I'd probably have to be very careful to not be wearing the same shoes in my home that I just wore to work out in the garden!

Oooh, I want one.
One question Tick, what if you leave a sock or stockings on the floor? Do bad things happen or does the little fella know to avoid bigger things?

Clutter has to be picked up. I forgot a sock and found that little darlin trailing it around.

The sensors can detect items larger than a stone and not put the spinning brushes near them.It really is an awesome product.
Every few years they 'improve' them, better sensors,better/stronger bushes, etc.Ours is a number of years old,yet still works like a champ.(avoids the stairs.goes only to the edge of the carpet and turns at the vinyl floor, unless designated to do so)
And unlike tickles, ours doesn't like to return to the dock.must be a flighty model:rolleyes:

Yes, I am really impressed with the performance. I don't have carpet, just hardwood, so it was a good choice. Newer models have docking, charging feature.

I got lucky at a casino a few years back, won too much(like that could ever happen)and made a few 'investments'.One time when I was going to the check-out,there was the Roomba just calling for me to take it home(like a lost puppy),I had to have it.
It hasn't had even ONE problem.Charges fine, cleans just like it did on day one, etc.
Apparently I can get upgrades for the sensors and comp. boards (so says the Discovery channel),I don't see the need yet,but it is nice to know it's available if I ever want to do it.
Hope the dog can accept the new friend under the bed:p

Tick, glad you are so happy & are able to use the vacuum with a dog in the house. I really wish I could have one but one of my dogs would definitely think it was a chew toy for her. Guaranteed to be broken within 5 minutes of use. Boo hoo.

The one we had about five years ago worked wonders.
Until... the transformer on the plug in wire went bad and I could not find a replacement. So about a year ago I went and bought an updated Roomba and it works very nice also.

LOL!
I have been trying for years to get the dog to run the vacuum & mop the floors but she pleads the "no opposable thumbs" excuse.
As excuses go, I got to tell you, it is getting pretty old and stale.
Me likey the spiffy new Roomba! I admit it does have a little edge over an old pooping machine. The dog and I are going to have a talk.

Well socks over the paws and a little something tied to the tail should at least keep the dust down on some areas of the floor. ;)

She is used to it now, tolerates it. We are waiting to try the cat with it because we saw a video of a cat riding Roomba and seemed to be enjoying it! One never knows with our animules, do we ?

I tried that with my Walker Hound (now gone bless her heart) but it didn't work when she chased the cat with the socks on because she crashed into the walls. She was 70 lbs. and legs up to her ears, so you can get an idea of what that looked like. Sort of like a camel getting up and then... it started all over again.

I hope you didn't take that the wrong way, cal. I have a little house and I really have to feel useful now that the Roomba is picking up the slack. It actually makes time for one more martini... watching... and thinking... and gee that little guy does a good job, maybe another one ! I did 45 hours this week so you can see why I appreciate the extra help !

I did some postpartum support for a family that had one. It worked a treat! From what I have heard, however, is that they don't work as well if you have a fair number of pets... :( I would have loved to have gotten one!

My husband, who has his own room/office came out of his domicile and asked 'who's in the bathroom, lot of noise in there and the door is closed'. My son and I both chimed up ROOMBA. Hubby said 'who's he?'.
I kid you not. Roomba has been in the house for a week and he hasn't noticed !
