I had a baby 5 weeks ago, when I first had my baby I had my period for two weeks, then the nexrt two weeks the period got very light. When I went to my 2 week check up the doctor said everything was normal and that I can start on birth control in two weeks, well I put on birth control patch 10 days ago, and on that day I began my period too, I took the patch off a week later did not put another one on, but I have been on my period for 10 days and at first it was light but in the past 4 days it has been heavier. Is it normal?

Could be a response to the hormones in the patch. Did your doctor say anything about having a 6 week check-up?

The bleeding you had right after baby was not actually a period, it was what is known as your "lochia flow". This is part of the healing process after childbirth. Some women will have their first true period around 4-8 weeks after birth. (often later if breastfeeding)

It may be your period, which can be irregular for a bit after childbirth, it may be off due to the patch. If it continues, check back with your doctor. Sometimes a bit of the placenta remains and this can cause bleeding as well.
