I have credit old debt 1000$+500$ +1500$
I am a foreign citizen
I studied in the USA from 1998 -2000 y. and then I left to my home country, I ve never paied back these debts but I am going to get married with american and move to the USA in 2007.
My question is when I ll get to the USA will I have some problems even if I change my family name to my fiance(in the USA) and Ill go to a different State.
I ve heard that all debts earesed after 7 years...
What would you advice me to do?
If the collectors find me will be my husband responsieble for my debts?

Thank you

I can't answer most of your questions, but I can say that debts are not erased after 7 years. Only credit information on a credit report will be removed, but that does not mean the debt is no longer valid.

I do not think your husband can be held liable for debts you incured before you were married, but you could still be held accountable.

You've got two choices I guess: wait to see if the creditors contact you, or pay the money you owe.
