Details:
- A black soldier and married white woman (close relationship or an affair?)
- Someone, maybe the husband, finds out and the soldier is put on trial.
- I believe the soldier tries to protect the woman by allowing the court to believe he took advantage of her and not saying that she was a willing participant.
- The soldier was either hung or hung himself.
- The soldier left a note and part of the note were the words to the song, "Strange Fruit (of the Poplar Tree)."
I recall this movie a touching, disturbing, and must see. This movie seemed as though it was shown almost as a documentary.
