OK. I'm dating this guy who goes to my curling club and we take lessons at the youth program. The thing is, we don't see each other from April to November. I am totally crazy for him and have been crushing on him for 4 years now. We have been dating since the last day of curling this year. So, now I'm starting to wonder if I should be dating him, or if I should date someone else who lives closer to me then he does?? Please help me!!

You are way to young to date. Just stay friends.:)

What is an age you think is appropriate to date?

Fifteen for bringing a guy home to watch movies when your parents are there. Sixteen to go out an actual date.:)

Why do you think that?? I know other people who are younger then I am who are dating and, well, I don't think they should be but it is their choice. But anyway, do you have a real reason for 15 to watch a movie and 16 for a real date??

Because at fifteen you can start to know what you want out of life. At fifteen you wouldn't want to go out with someone older. Your parents would be more comfortable with you being at home with a boy than out in a car with one or at a friends house with one. You're safe and they have peace of mind.

At sixteen having had home dates you will be more mature and you'll know about the guy you're dating. Your parents will know him and will feel better about letting you date at sixteen (IF THEY DO). Good luck and always let your parents know about what's going on in your life.

OK. Thank you for your insite. But, I have so much history with him as my friend and all. I just, I don't know if I SHOULD EVEN DATE HIM. Is it worth risking it when we are older?? We have been through so much and have a lot more to go through. Would dating be too risky to loose all that we had together??

I think you should stay friends with him, just friends and when you are three years or four years older you may have a boyfriend and he will still be your friend. Good Luck and don't try to grow up to fast. Your parents will know when they think it's time for you to date. I'm only giving an opinion based on how I raised my kids.

As I said yo you in another thread. Kids are trying to grow up too soon. I'm not as conservative as KitKat so I think that at 13 its OK to go on group "dates", basically hanging out. At 14 you can begin one on one dating. That's IF your parents agree. They are the final arbiters of when and whether you can date.

So before you consider dating anyone, you should be having this discussion with your parents.
