Set timing on a 17.5 Briggs & Stratton Motor that is on a Troy Built Pony

Check fly wheel key see if sheared.
The only timing setting is inside the motor.
That's where you line up the mark on the cam and the crankshaft.
If its cranking hard you might check the valve clearence.
