When I try to log in the message says it has stopped working and they are looking for a solution. I use Vista, nothing has been added to my PC lately. I tried to remove it from Contol Panel/Programs and Features but it does not show up there. What can I do to fix this problem?
Thanks

Check windows updates for anything to do with Windows live.

OK, I did that but it had no effect. I still get the same messages. Anything else you know of?

This is the Live Essentials page, so you can download and install directly from here: Windows Live Essentials (http://explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials)

Hi, I guess I didn't explain my problem well enough. When I use the Essentials page is says I already have Messenger installed and I have had it for a long time. But now I cannot even sign into it because of the "stopped working" message I get. I cannot remove it from Programs/Features because it doesn't even show up there so I have no chance of downloading it again. Now in my taskbar I see two icons with red marks for Messenger or sometimes none at all. That is my problem, I cannot sign into the existing one because of the message.
