Keep all questions concerning the same issues in the same place.

If you have another question on this subject you can post it here.

You can ask as many questions as you want, but if its concerning homework,we only ask that you make the best effort you can, post it,and someone will give you feedback.

You are not troubling me at all.

comparative = -er or more
superlative = -est or most

#1 is correct. Either one in #2 is correct. Using -er or more would be a true comparative.

Sometimes -er is good. Other times "more" is good.
I am more brave than he is. (Better than "I am braverer than he is.")
I am happier than she is. (Better than "I am more happy than she is.")

I am the bravest of all. I am the most brave of all.
I am the happiest of all. I am the most happy of all.

Be sure to use one period at the end of a sentence.

You aren't as fast as I am. She's the one I go to whenever I need to edit something.
English is flexible and allows a variety of ways to get one's point across.

You aren't as fast as me. (colloquial)
You aren't as fast as I am.
You aren't faster than I am.
I am faster than you are.
I am faster than you. ("are" is understood)
NOT GOOD: I am more fast than you are.

Alarm can be a noun (a thing), and it can also be a verb (an action word).

"I sounded the fire alarm." (noun)

"I alarm my mother when I walk on the roof." (verb)

Unless it is slang, most words are formal in American composition. Even "kids" is accepted now -- not formal, but at least accepted in a formal context. The British are more formal than Americans are when writing.

I don't understand your use of positive and negative sentences. If a sentence has some form of "no" in it, it's negative.

Negative --
I have none.
There are no cookies in the cookie jar.

Is that what you mean?

You can say --

I have no money.
I haven't any money.
I don't have any money.
I have none [meaning "money"].
I have none [meaning "cookies"].

When you say, "I have none," there is a sentence before that to name a noun -- money, cookies, horses, shoes, houses, etc. For instance,

Fares has two homes. I have none.
Fares has lots of money. I have none.
Fares has a herd of horses. I have none.

Fares has two homes. I don't have any.
Fares has lots of money. I don't have any.

5. visual..and ..visualize..I can;t visualize my self with out my mother.
1. It's better to differentiate between classes or groups of things. Can you differentiate between these two types of rashes? (They look alike.) How can I differentiate between these two flavors of cola? (They both look and taste the same.) How can I differentiate between Swedes and Danes? (They're both white-skinned.)

2. Capitalize the first word in a sentence. You have to define this word for us. We have to define what we are facing, so we can deal with it. (Notice, I added a comma after "facing.") Both of your sentences in #2 are good.

3. My principle in this life is to be a good man. Is he better now? Yes, he is, in principle. (Notice, I changed "in" to "of" and added commas.) Good sentences!

4. Will there be any outcomes for this conference? (The word "outcome" looks to the future, so I used future tense, and I made "outcome" plural.) Your thinking is basically good.

5. I can't visualize myself without my mother. This is a good use of the word "visualize" in this sentence. "Without" and "myself" are each one word, and be sure to always use an apostrophe ( ' ), not a semicolon ( ; ), in contractions.

My teacher..
I have a homework with 10 questions.. I have to answre them correctly..
1.Having completed the Learning Style Questionnare in class, give a summary of your findings.
* The findings show that I am a mix between the three basic types of learning styles ( visual, audiotory and kinaesthetic), but I rely on the most on the visual learning style more than the others while I am studying. Usually I use the kinaesthetic and audiotory learning styles when I feed my cultuural background.
2. Were you surprised at the findings? If so, explain why.If not, expand
*Yes, really I was surprised at the findings. Beacause these findings explain my actions while studying which I used to do them automatically.
For example, when I listen to a lecture I keep my eyes on the lecturer and react with hem and I never asked myself why I do that?
Now, I can realise that as strategies are used by visual learner styles, so mine, my preferred learning style almost is visual.

Wondergirl
Oct 17, 2010, 04:21 PM
A visual learner uses his eyes to learn.
He does this by 1) writing down the main points so he can SEE them in his own printing, by 2) making flash cards so he can SEE the question on one side and the answer on the other, by 3) typing main ideas in a Word program so he can print them out to SEE them.

An auditory learner uses his ears to learn.
He does this by asking a friend or sibling to read the main points to him so he can HEAR them said again. He may then repeat the main points out loud, so he can HEAR himself.

A kinesthetic learner uses his body and movements while he studies.
A girl I was tutoring wanted to be a cheerleader. She did not know her times tables. I had her do each times problem (4x4=16, for instance) as a cheer. She had pom-pons and jumped up and down and yelled a times table problem for each cheer.

1. Having completed the Learning Style Questionnaire in class, give a summary of your findings.
* The findings show that I am a mix between the three basic types of learning styles (visual, auditory and kinesthetic), but I rely mostly on the visual learning style, since I am a visual person, and somewhat on auditory and kinesthetic styles.
2. Were you surprised at the findings? If so, explain why. If not, expand.
* Yes, I really was surprised at the findings. These findings explain my actions while studying which were automatic; I had never wondered why before this. For example, when I listen to a lecture, I keep my eyes on the lecturer's face and lips. I never asked myself why do I do that. Now, I realise I need to see the changes in his lips and on his face and, as a somewhat auditory person, hear the changes in his voice. When I review the material, I must walk around my room and be moving in order to remember better (kinesthetic).

1.Having completed the tour of the Library in the North Campus, mention three possible ways of studying in the library.
* The library on the Nourth Campus has diffirent ways to study in and this diversity to make these ways suitable for all students and their needs. Fristly, these are 2 meeting rooms on the North campus and one on the South campus, they are used by students who want to present a presentation to his study group or who invite them .Second, the group study rooms, where the students can study and discuss together. They are located on the first floor on individual section to give these groups the free to talk without trying to keep them quite. Lastly, the study areas (or area?), which they are spread on the three floors of the library, some of them are supported by networked PC.

2.Were you surprised by any facilities on offer at the library? Explain your answer.
Yes, really I was surprised by the meeting rooms. They are very useful and effictive. You can prepare yourself and simulate the reality before the real presentation takes place. In addition to, It can help the student to improve their confidence and their ability to show and present their opinions and thoughts. Lastly, they save the student's time. For example, last semester I presented a PowerPoint presentation about my Saudi Cultures, after that many students ask me about the cultures,if I repeated this presentation on this room and invited all these students, I would save more time and give them the free to ask and discuss every point.

2. Were you surprised by any facilities offered at the library? Explain your answer.
* Yes, I was really surprised by the meeting rooms. They are very useful and effective. Students can prepare themselves well for exams and classwork by simulating and role-playing real situations. In addition, it helps students increase their confidence and their ability to present ideas, opinions, and thoughts. Also, the meeting rooms save students' time. For example, last semester I gave a PowerPoint presentation about my Saudi culture. After that, many students asked me follow-up questions. If I were to repeat this presentation on a smaller scale in a study room and invite the students with questions, I would save class time and give fellow students the freedom to ask and discuss the finer points of my culture.

10.From your own personal experience, what are the pros and cons of studying in the library?
Studying in the library has a lot of advantages and no disadvantages, in my own opinion it is the best place where you can study.
The advantages are:
Let me start of by saying most of the advantages and disadvantages would greatly depend on the environment you require for you to focus when studying. Considering the average person some of the following advantages may apply:
1) For people who need noise free areas, the library is most definitely the place for you. Sometimes it may be a bit noisy but that only happens once in a long while in very few libraries.
2) The environment wiithin the library itself highly motivates as there will be a lot of focused people who will be down to serious business and thus you will feel motivated to do likewise.
3) A proper library should have all the books you require thus you won't have to spend much time looking for the books you require.

Is your understanding of English improving week by week? Do you speak it with others?

FARES
Oct 29, 2010, 07:03 PM
I think so...
The problem is I have to study for other subjects like chemistry, physics and biology. They take a lot of time. Now I study just one or two hours from 6 to study English.. I will keep studying hard.
But I think it needs more effort..

Wondergirl

It sounds very difficult to have chem, bio, and physics all in the same year. Why did you schedule all three together?

FARES
Oct 29, 2010, 07:09 PM
I don't have a choice..
You have to do them all together..
It is the rules of my school.. I have to pass all of them in addition to get 6.5 in IELTS

Wondergirl

I've been sick for two weeks, but am better today.

Do English-language crossword puzzles and read English-language books. Begin with books for children and young people. If you need title suggestions, please ask. When you come across a word you don't know, look it up.

I am sorry to hear that, H hope you are better now.
Yes please can I have some titles for some books, and have I to look up every word and keep it in my mind? Or just 5 words every day that I have to keep
