I moved into an apartment in Austin, Tx and signed a three month lease which ended May 31st. I moved back to Oklahoma and am now being sent letters from a company stating I owe the apartment over three thousand dollars! Can they force me to pay even though my contractual obligation with them was over? I didn't have an automatic renewal clause in my lease either. What are my options?

What is the reason they're giving for saying that you owe them money? Is it for rent or are they claiming that there's damage?
