o.k. last week I got tired of fighting the carb hassles and just plunked down $126 for a new one! Dang lawn mower cranked for the first time this year!! Ran it for 20 minutes and a bolt came loose that keeps the tension pulley in place for the blade deck. It quit cutting so I cut it off ( it had been cranked 3 times in 20 min. it was working) anyway, worked on deck, fixed it and then NOTHING. NOTHING. Jumped it off and nothing with the key crank... (new solenoid, new battery, new carb, new fuel lines, filters and gas, new spark plug... ) 16 HP Vtwin OHV Model 303777
I have too much money in it now not to figure out the problem. The rewind spring is sprung ($75) so I was hoping to keep cranking it with the key to avoid that cost. I feel it's a wiring issue... or something, but I have gone over all of the wires, nothing is burned up, and the fuse under the seat is good... how can I tell if the ignition switch is bad? And would it just go out like that? Where are all these safety switches everyone mentions? I know of the seat kill switch, but that's all. :D

Hi,
Kind of think that the deck issue mentioned leads me to saying that it wiped out the deck switch or wiring.
Peace,
