Yes. Social Security Disability payments can be garnished for child support.

What you need to do is go to the local Social Security office and sign up the children so they get their own check from the government due to your disability. This would put income into their household on your disability benefits. Then the money each child receives from the government would be considered child support paid by you.

The money put into the Disability fund is considered earned money and when it's paid out it's considered earned money as well.

SSDI CAN be garnished for a limited number of reasons, Child support is one of them. Since SSDI is federal any state support collection agency can place a garnishment order against SSD or SSDI payments.

If you are getting a private disability, that may also be garnishable.

Is this disability or SSDI? If its SSDI then you need to add your children and ask for a modification.

The above answers are Much appreciated. However there are slight differences with Washington state disability. I need answers specific to that, and if possible the W.A.C. codes that apply to interstate collections of arrears, thanks to everyone !

Can anyone answer whether the California interstate collections can garnish Washington state Labor and Industries Time Loss payments?

Yes they can because its part of an insurance program. And if you look at the law for California they can inercept insurance payouts as well as lottery winnings etc.
