My I-130 was approved. My wife filed the pettition on 01/02/10. I enter the country illegally and I'm still living here. Can I apply for a work permit while the national visa department processes the affidavit of support and the visa petition? And what should I do?

You can file I-765 together with I-485 (adjustment of status) or have I-485 pending.
