I am not sure where to begin, I have an LAPD officer that is an ex wife of my father sending derogatory slandering text messages to my family about me. I have not had any contact with this women for 18 years. I contacted the LAPD IA and they told me they would take care of the problem, she even threatened to look me up in their database and pay me a visit. That was 8 months ago she continues to send this graphic horrible messages about me. It took years of therapy to forget her (she was abusive) and now she is back and won't go away. How do I protect myself and my family from her. The harassment is affecting my job and my mental and physical health.

If the Police won't or can't stop, retain an Attorney. If there are gounds the Attorney can sue both the ex-wife and the Police Department.

What is this all about? Usually after 18 years people give up.

How is she getting everyone's email addresses if she's been out of the picture for 18 years?

Hello d:

I wouldn't wait to find out if the cops are going to stop her. I'd see a lawyer, TODAY.

I agree with both responses. Get an attorney and file whatever appropriate charges you can. They should be able to help you get an injunction against her to stop this behavior. Keep all of her messages and do not respond to anything she does without consulting an attorney. Ask your friends and relatives to forward to you anything she sends them about you and to save the messages on their computers so that you can prove that she sent them.

Why not just change your cell phone numbers? How hard is that? Duh... Same goes with everyone she likes to send nasty messages about you to. How hard is that? Just don't let anyone know the new cell numbers who could possibly give to this woman. How hard is that?
