I'm 35 weeks pregnant with my first, on Saturday I started having contractions that were about ten minutes apart for about two hours then they increased to being 7 minutes aparts and stayed that way for about 2 days. The contractions weren't really painful just uncomfortable. Today they haven't stopped but they went from being in a 7 min pattern to just being all over the place. I also keep getting twinges of pain in my pubic bone and achiness in my sides. What does it all mean?

It could mean anything - call your Physician. Now.

More than likely they are Braxton Hicks contractions as your uterus prepares for true labour. Have you been taking in a good amount of fluids? If not, make sure you have plenty of water or juice... you don't need to go over the top with it, but not having enough fluids can cause you to become a bit dehydrated and that can cause your uterus to contract more.

As JudyKaytee suggested, give your doctor/midwife a call. General rule of thumb is that if you are before 37 weeks and have more than 4 or 5 contractions in an hour, change position, get something to drink, use the toilet, etc.. If they continue, let your care provider know.

Some women will have very frequent Braxton Hicks, some very few, some not notice any at all. Since labour can sometimes start early, it is always wise to keep your doctor/midwife informed of changes.
