My Gas dryer stopped heating up today, we smelt gas in the house. Than found out the dryer was cold but spinning just not heating up, any 1 have clues to what is going on.

I'm going to assume your on the new skin and haven't seen the stickies. I don't even know where they are on that skin.

I imagine it will either be a thermal fuse, ignitor, or the gas coils. Exactly in that order. Access the front of the machine and identify the components. The thermal fuse is white and the ignitor is located in the burner chamber. If you have no way of testing for resistance and continuity I recommend taking them out and taking them to a reliable parts store. They will test them and tell you which one you need. You don't need to replace them both only the one that is BAD.

TY so very much for all your help, it turned out to be the ignitor, put it in and it works great... but my husband bought the gas coils anyway seeing our dryer is 16 years old. He figured he will just probably replace them another day... Thank you your advised worked out great
