OK here is how I remember it.
This kid wants his father to spend more time with him or something to that effect. So he takes the design of a computer chip his sister is creating and posts it online with the promise of a return payment of money to all of those who invest in it. When he has accumulated a few million dollars he buys online stocks of his fathers company and gains the controlling interest in the company (its a toy company). Then he changes things at the company using an online pseudonym. After things start to go better with his dad then other problems start.
