I vacated an apartment June 12th, 2010- I received a phone call from corporate (it's a large national management company) last week saying I owed $3,000. I figured it must have been a mistake so I asked for the list of charges to be either emailed or mailed to me so ensure it was the correct apartment and see a detailed list of what we had been charged for. I never received anything or heard back. So, I emailed the apartment complex directly so ask for this list or when we would receive it in the mail (as the security deposit of the lease states we would)
My question is, if I still do not receive the written list of charges within 30 days, am I entitled to hold Pennsylvania statute 250.512(b) "Any landlord who fails to provide a written list within thirty days as required in subsection (a), above, shall forfeit all rights to withhold any portion of sums held in escrow, including any unpaid interest thereon, or to bring suit against the tenant for damages to the leasehold premises." against the landlord and request my deposit back?
