Okay, CB, you were the first one to mention the world cup and I haven't see anyone around here interested enough to carry on the thread. So I start a new one. Who do you think will take the cup? I have my money on Germany... they are playing Spain today and the score at this moment in Ontario at 1600H is 0-0. There has been some really dirty games; Spain has the cleanest record, German, maybe so, but I haven't seen any really bad stuff coming from that team.

I am off early and my son and I are watching this game ! Okay soccer folks, lets here it from you... Germany... or... Spain... there are only three left and the other one is the Netherlands.

I was rooting for Ghana (after they woke me up from my somnolence ) . They were robbed ! The competition I saw (bits and pieces on Spanish TV at work in the lunch room) showed me that international officiating is as corrupt in the world cup as in any other international sporting event. Whenever I see blatant miscalls (and they happened frequently ) I wonder how much the judge has on the game.

And what's with this dramatic flopping act every time someone gets tripped? The tripped player would roll on the ground clutching his leg until the opposing player was yellow carded .Then he got up and in full speed join the action. It reminded me a little of the drama in professional wrestling.

Like Steve I am dreading the possible importatation of the vuvuzela . It is probably the main reason I only watched matches in 15 minute segments.

I endorse this part of your speech, but let's not make this personal, since both our countries teams got knocked out of the competition. I'll call it Holland to win only because I like the dutch more than the spanish
