I just bought this new HP Pavilion 6516. It has 6 GB Ram, AMD X4 630 I have had it for about a week an a half now and I have only added basic stuff like Firefox, Itunes and that's about it... It freezes up way too much and half the programs that came with the computer never load. I figured it was freezing because it was set to power saving mode, but I changed it to performance mode and it still does the same thing.

Freezes or lockups can be caused by a wide range of things. Common causes are faulty software, particularly hardware drivers like a video driver, or hardware issues such as erratic power supply or bad memory.
Suggested approach:
Take the thing back to where it was purchased or contact HP. It can probably be made to work, possibly with much effort, but one shouldn't need to invest the time in a new machine.
Run memory (http://www.memtest.org/) and hard drive (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/hard-drives/hard-drive-faq-395627.html) diagnostic tests.
Check HP's website for newer/revised drivers or software patches.
Erase the hard drive and reinstall the operating system (Windows).
