I have married my partner of 6 years and my parents know I'm gay. They have always known and have been pretty cool about it. But once I told them I tied the knot with my long term life partner they have just dropped me and will not talk to me.
This is killing my spirit and I don't know what to do. I know full well I am not wrong but I have to live my life.. do I just disown them and move on.

Your being gay may not have seemed 'real' to them until you got married. It may take time for them to realize that you are still the same person they love. Live your own life and give them some space and time to adjust.

Another thought occurs that it may have nothing to do with you being gay, but that you got married without telling them. Some mothers dream of their child's wedding as much as they did their own. Eloping while easier on the nerves and pocketbook can foster ill-will with those who would have loved to share the moment with you.

Congratulations on your marriage. May it be a long and happy relationship.

do i just disown them and move on. ?Hello d:

It looks like they beat you to it. Sure. Moving on is always good, but I'd NEVER close the door. Parents get smarter as they get older too.

Go ahead, and live your life, and don't feel bad because they have issues to overcome. Eventually maybe they will, but why stop your own happiness because of it?

Keep on loving your parents and be assured they love you. Nothing changes a parents love for their child.

So you did not invite them to the wedding, did not tell them before the wedding??

Straight or gay, if you run off and get married without telling your parents, it can cause years of pain and anger

Their "problem" isn't that you're gay. Their "problem" is that you ran off and got married without telling them.

Why did you do it that way? A wedding ceremony or the start of a marriage is a huge, major family event.

Now I'm mad at you too.
