How can I encrypt a folder on windows 7. I no how on windows vista but not windows 7 is there software neeeded to be downloaded?

-Right-click the folder or file you want to encrypt, and then click Properties.
-Click the General tab, and then click Advanced.
-Select the Encrypt contents to secure data check box, and then click OK.

Be sure to backup you Personal Certificate and store it somewhere safe. Because if anything happens to your operating system and it’s reloaded you will not be able to open you files at all.

To back up your certificates, Press the “Windows Key + R” simultaneously. The Run dialogue box will appear. Type CERTMGR.MSC and click OK.
In the certificates box expand “Personal then Certificates”.
Right click on your certificates and select “All Tasks then Export”
