Lots of reasons for "missed" or irregular periods.

And sure... sexual activity and possible pregnancy are a prime reason for concern...

But honestly... I have not dated one single woman who has never had an "off" month or two or four...

You are very young. Your hormone levels are constantly changing.

There are so, so many things that can change your cycle without it being pregnancy...

So...

Any changes going on? Stess? Health? Sleeping OK? Eating OK?

And please remember... just because you don't have a regular pattern right now... that doesn't mean you aren't ovulating and that you aren't fertile.

If you aren't sexually active, a normal healthy teen, then don't worry too much.

Many things can throw your period for a loop, pregnancy is only one of them, and if you're not having sex, you can mark pregnancy off your list.

Stress, change in diet, weight loss, weight gain, exercise, medication, illness, you name it, they can all affect your period.

Like KP said, every women has off months some time in their life. You're only 13, and even though you've had your period since you were 10, your body is still adjusting.

Don't stress about it too much, unless you are sexually active, in which case you should try taking an hpt using first morning urine.

Remember, no sex is safe sex. Even if you use birth control, the chance of pregnancy still exists, so if this is why you think pregnancy isn't a possibility, you're wrong.

Good luck.

What do you mean by "not that active" as in exercise, you just sit around, or you are not 'that sexual active "

If you're not sexually active you have nothing to worry about. It's just part of being a female. Even when you're older and have a regular pattern there will still be variations. Don't stress about it. (and good for you for not being sexually active.)

I missed my period on march when I got it last year and freaked out but I learned that the 1st year you get your period you might miss one or two and that your period week might be all over the calender it takes about a year or 2 for your body to get used to your period and it to get on a reg pattern w/o missing any. Mine is just now starting to settle down into a routine(I guess you could call it that) bottom line: don't freak out its normal for it to be irregular in the first year or so.

Great answer, but I do have to point out the OP said she's 13 and has had her period since she was 10. :)
