I have been separated for about a year in California and my ex did not work during the marriage but only odd jobs at the end. My kids are 6 and 8 and I have filed a motion in court to impute wages on her for minimum wage but of course she will fight of grounds that children are too young and she needs to stay at home. She needs to work in my opinion so what do you think will happen in a ruling for I know she could get a minimum wage paying job?

Who will be doing child care for your children while she is working this minimum wage job? In NY it makes no sense for the custodial spouse to work for minimum wage because the Judge then orders the non-custodial parent to pay a percentage of child care based on percentage of total income earned.

I do note that in the past you've been the wife, posting about problems with your husband - https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/family-law/cant-true-388382.html#post1932945.

Now you're the husband, posting problems with your wife.

Is there some reasonable explanation for this sex change?
