What are physical quantites ?

In physics, a quantity that can be measured or the result of a measurement - is called physical quantity.  Length, mass ,velocity etc are physical quantities. We can measure them by using a standard unit.
 
For example - the length of a string is 2m. Here  'length' is a physical quantity and it means that the string's length is two times  the standard unit of length(here-1 meter).
