What are the steps of installing a dishwasher when replacing an older model?

What model are you replacing? An exploded view may be at www.searspartsdirect.com.

At a minimum, verify the service is correct for the new washer 120 vs 240 etc.

1. Turn off the power at the breaker
2. turn off the water
3. remove any access panels. Typically the kick plate.
4. There may be a couple of screws at the top front as well.
5. disconnect electrical & cap.
6. Disconnect water inlet & drain.

You'll need to catch the standing water especially in the hot water line when you disconnect it. The drain may also drain ater when disconnected when the drain is laid down.
