I am 13 years old and I am allergic to make-up. I have a special foundation that I have to use before I put on any other make-up. Have you got any go tips for make-up with being allergic to make-up?

Rachel, please post each question once. We're volunteers and it takes a while to answer every question.

Have you tried makeup specifically made for people with severe allergies? My cousin is also very allergic and uses an entire line (after trying several) that "works" for her.

Do you know what in the makeup it is that you are allergic too? I knew a girl who was just allergic to one brand. But like judy said, some people have to try a lot of brands until they find something that works for them.

I'm looking at my makeup now. My almay foundation says it's 97.4% natural and hypoallergenic. That's the only thing I have from almay but maybe some of their other products are the same and might be worth trying? I used to use a lot of stuff from aveda. I think I remember their stuff being all natural. The all natural stuff seems to be better in general and would probably be better for sensitive skin that the less natural stuff.

Well No but when ever I look at them there always very high priced. Have you any idea of a good one that's not that high in price?

No, I don't, nothing that has worked for my cousin. She said she is also allergic to nickel which she finds in jewelry (which doesn't surprise me) and makeup (which does surprise me).

Cheap makeup usually means cheap ingredients.
But a lot of the pricier places (like the makeup counters in departments stores or makeup stores like aveda and sephora) will let you try things before you buy them. I would do some research and find some brands that look promising. Then I would find out where they're sold and try them out. Once you find a brand you like, pick some colors you can wear everyday and that you really like.

Maybe. Maybe you should see a dermatologist or allergy doctor to find out for sure though. They might even be able to give you some more specific recommendations.
