These were plastic tubes that interlocked making many different types of toys, i.e.. Cars, buildings etc. They are like tinker toys but only larger. I got a set of them in 1991 or 1992.

Are you sure you don't mean Omagles? I have two sets and looking for more too! These had plastic pipes, connectors, clips, tires, and flat panels. You could build sliding boards, cars, houses, etc. I have been searching forever. There is a place in the Netherlands that sells them still, but they are $350 and up a set not including the shipping and handling. Good luck!
