I am 58 years of age, I have two felonies just 5yrs ago 3/2005. I got a cdl hoping for work, it lasted a couple mo, smaller truck, auto. Is it a waste to try for a grant and more education. My greatest exp was in mgf engineering -areospace (14 yrs), but with a felony drug conviction it's a "no", for ever. I am a klutz (SP?) at craftsman type skills - I've been reduced to grunt labor at "labor ready" when avaiable. Is their any hope, a solution> I live in Arlington, tx.

I really wish you wouldn't feel down and out and 58, bikerpat. You are writing to us after all so there is still hope in the wonderful people here at AMHD. Just what type of 'grunt labor' are you talking about, general jobs for workforce?

Your felonies are pretty long ago, five years or so, one was a drug conviction? What kind of drug conviction? If you don't mind me asking.

There is always hope and I don't see why you are out of the aerospace industry because of a drug conviction five years ago.

Well first there is nothing wrong or bad with "grunt" labor, I have waited tables, cooked at fast food, and was a janitor before between other jobs to keep my family feed. I have bought a old law mower and mowed lawns ( paying my taxes of course) and earned good money just going up and down the streets looking for yards that needed to be mowed.

So what do you want to do ? What about going into some sales fields
