Ok, getting very fustrated with this worthless Bryant AC and Furnace. I didn't put it in, it was here when I bought the place.

This is the third time in a month this ac has broken down. We have already replaced the blower motor and capacitor in the inside unit. Today (two weeks later) the outside unit quit working. I can hear it click like it is trying to turn on but nothing happens. When I touch the fan motor on the top of the outside unit it is very hot to the touch.

I know nothing of how these work or how to take them apart. I have very little money thanks to the last repair and all the AC repairmen here charge way more that what the service is worth. I will not call them as they are crooks. They quoted me $479 for the blower motor alone on the last repair when the motor only costs $85.

Any help would be appreciated. If we can narrow it down then I know a handy man who can get the parts cheap and fix it cheap.

The easiest, and cheapest guestimate not being there would be to replace the capicitor, looks similar to the one they replaced in your furnace, but bigger,, tag or photo the wires so you can be sure to put back right, one post is labeled herm,, one is for fan,, the other C for common,, take loose the old one and on the side it will give the size,, must buy a exact match

Does the fan spin if you push it with a stick? Does the compressor run?
