Hello I:
I'm reminded of James Hamm. He was convicted of murder in Arizona, served 17 years, and then went to law school. If he knew the bar wouldn't admit him, he wouldn't have gone to law school - but he didn't, and there was no way he could have.
If you get your training, you'll still have to go before a board of realtors, or whatever they call them in your state, and explain why you should be granted a license...
Like James Hamm, you're not going to be able to find out BEFORE you apply. Applying IS the way you find out.

PS> By the way, although he's been trying for 15 years, James Hamm still hasn't been admitted to the Arizona bar.

Hi, Iowan!
If you click on the following link, you'll find some information there.
Real Estate Salespersons and Brokers Professional Licensing (http://www.state.ia.us/government/com/prof/sales/home.html)
I haven't found all of the specifics there other than there will be a background check.
There is a way to contact the commission via that site.
Thanks!
