A current employee that works under me is making false statements to my superiors and hurting my reputation at the company I work at and trying to get me fired what course of action can I take

I haven't been fired yet but they are making false statements that are hurting my reputation at the company I work at and could possibly get me fired

You can't sue for possibly. But I would keep all copies if you have legal access to them. How did you get the emails?

Sent to me and my superior and are legal department.

All you really can do is keep a record and maybe a diary and stay on top of things.

Have you discussed this with HR and made a formal complaint about his lies.
