I have a riding lawn mower it starts up good but in about 15 min. it will cut off. I checked the fire it is getting it very well. It will not start up until several hrs. I think it is a fuel issue but I do work on cars not lawnmowers. I know that the principle is still the same as far as fuel and fire when there is a no start. Need help::confused:

Check your grounds to start with. Also is there and electronic fuel shut off at the base of the carb? Is the soleniod getting hot after running for awhile? Might want to test it. As with any soleniod if it overheats it will loose the magnetic properties and/or if the wiring inside is going bad it can caus an open to occur. Is there an oil pressure switch on the unit? That needs to be checked also.

Try loosening the gas cap and see if it will start.

Fire you can check and fuel you can check.
FIRE: Remove plug and ground to block at attempt to start.
FUEL: Pull plug and see if wet after trying to start a few times.

Carb cleaner injected into the air cleaner or plug hole should cause at least one sputter if fuel related.
