First thing I'm going to say is... please help me. I'm desperate, I feel so ill and weak. I'm 25yrs old, male, 6ft3. I always been fairly skinny don't get me wrong but now its getting bad. The most I've ever weighed is 11stone... I now weigh 9 and a half. For someone of my height, that's not good. I feel so lazy, I have a 2yr old boy and a baby on the way but I just don't have any energy to do anything, I feel like a C*ck because my mrs is pregnant and yet she does more than me. I work 8hours a day and don't even eat anything during that. I've been to the doctors, I tried to explain that I'm not really stressed because I have a very good life but for sum reason I don't want to eat and that after 1 or 2 mouthfuls, I get bored. I was practically laughed at and they told me to do a diet plan... I was too embarrassed to write what I eat so I never bothered. I can't concentrate, I can't walk properly anymore, I get stomach cramps constantly if I stand up straight. I've tried everything, even illegal steroids and done the gym that's how bad things are.. nothing worked. People say "eat more eggs... eat this, eat that" but eating bores me where I just pick. Is there anything anyone can suggest, I'm prepared to go to the extreme just to sort this out. Thanks for giving this a ready anyway.

Time to switch doctors and get some real help.
Did they take any blood tests?
Did they check your blood pressure?
Don't be embarressed to write down your diet, you need to get this sorted before you get into real physical difficulty.
I urge you to go back to your doctor.

Thanks for the reply... I did blood tests, they just said all is OK on thyroids etc. they checked my blood pressure, said that was OK too. I forgot to mention, I smoke. To be honest, I think smoking is the only thing that's keeping me going as I can't stand food right now so it takes a little bit of the edge off for me. I have to put thick layers on underneath my clothes so people don't see how thin I actually am.. even on the hottest days. My face does kind of give it away as its so drawn, I can't get my hand around my wrist, plus get it around above the ankle.. I just feel like I'm out of ideas and seem to have tried everything now.

Ask your doctor to refer you to a dietitican, please do not self medicate, smoking does inhibit appitite, however quiting now would put more stress on your body, talk to your doctor about quitting, and aids to help you.
There is not much I can advice you to eat,as I feel your question needs to be addressed by a health care professional,I would however urge you to go back to your doctor, your very underweigh for your height, and the symptoms to post would suggest further investigation by a doctor.

Thanks for helping. I did go to a dietician but she couldn't work anything out, she just looked confused at me when I told her I was bored of eating. I tried quiting smoking before, it did make things a lot worse, for 8 weeks I had mouth ulcers, about 10 at a time which put me off eating even more. I started smoking again, the ulcers vanished the next day.. I think its time I try the doctors again. Thanks for your help redhed, appreciated big time.

Remember that smoking kills your appetite.
About the thyroid, you need to make sure they test your TSH, T3 and T4 to get a proper diagnosis.
I was thin like you once. When I hit 40 I started packing on the pounds and now have a hard time getting them off.

Sounds like heaven to me lol the doctor made a joke to me, he said once I hit 30 I'll regret ever coming to the doctors. I feel like because I'm down n feel horrible that I'm dragging my family down with me. My little boy loves swimming, that's a no go for me.
As for the thyroid tests I haven't a clue what they checked, they tried a few but I was left in the dark really

Have you considered that depression may be a factor?

I thought about it, but I don't have anything to be depressed about.. Well other than my weight and body frame?

We don't NEED reasons for depression. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain.

I never knew that, I think it's quite a high possibility. There's not a day that goes by where I don't feel self conscious about my weight and size. I think I'll read up more on this plus suggest this to the doctors, it's a long shot but could be the answer. Thanks a lot

I never knew that, it could be a very high possibility. I'm constantly dwelling on my weight and size. I will have to read up on this and suggest this to my doctor. What is probably getting to me the most is I don't have the energy to play with the family. Thanks a lot

I thought id post this just in case anyone else has the same problems.. I googled depression, up popped a depression test... well... about 3million of them. I answered the questions as honestly as possible.. every test I completed popped up saying I have severe depression. Obviously this is basic questions and not a proper diagnosis, but it's a start and always a possibility. Just like to thank everyone that posted :)
