HELP! Our water's been tested and there is no bacteria but we have a sulfur odor when running cold water and were sold a 'sulfur kit' (aerator) to install on the well head. Can't find install instructions anywhere. HELP! This does not involve electricity, it's just a way to release the sulfur gas into the air. Should be simply really, but could use a diagram and instructions. Please let me know if you can help. THANKS!

I have absolutely no idea - receipt just says Sulfur Kit. We're supposed to bore a hole at the base of the well head and attach a tap, 3/4" pvci and a boiler drain faucet-like thing that will allow the sulfur gas to exit the well head rather than being carried through the water line. $100 worth of small parts but supposed to be simple and solve the problem...

Not at all familiar with this, but sounds like a rip-off to me.

First of all, there is no such thing as sulfur gas. Sulfur is a solid. There is a compound known as hydrogen sulfide which gives a rotten egg odor and I suppose this is supposed to allow some of it to escape. The problem is this. The gas is in solution in your water. I would not think that simply venting the well itself won't solve your problem. There are filters which can filter out the hydrogen sulfide from the water itself. I would think that you need one of those.
