Hi,I was born in thessoniki, greece in 1980 by a nigerian parents.have my birth and baptismal certificate in greece.I have been living in nigeria since 1986.is it possible for me to obtain citizenship by birth.

Greek citizenship is determined by origin and naturalization, not birth in the country. This means a child born in Greece to two parents of no Greek origin (descent) is not entitled to Greek citizenship, but may apply on his/her 18th birthday

Hi,thanks for the timely response.I am so pleased with the reply.my question is you said I may apply in my 18th year birthday if I was born there to parents of no greek origin.I am thirty,can I still apply.

Yes you sure can. The part about being 18 is because you would be of legal age. That's why it's there. So your allowed to apply at any time. Good Luck.
